We know that ( Lesson 5 key) ..." there cannot be two fa'ils for a verb". For this reason we can not say ذَهَبُوا الطُلَّابُ
We must say ذَهَبَ الطُلَّابُ. But in Lesson 6, we see that a verb can have two fai'ls, if we want to emphasize. For example: أَيَّ سُوْرَةٍ حَفِظْتِ أنْتِ ؟ If we want to emphasize that the students went by saying ذَهَبُوا الطُلَّابُ , will it be correct ? |

Agree. It is a question for Dr. Abdur Rahim. Best is to ask him in his blog.
Remember in the example the verb is in the second person, so the person being talked to is in front of the speaker. In the case of the students, this is a third person(s). May be there should be a different way of emphasys? Allah knows best. |

example from the article: ﻧﺎم ﻓﻴﺼﻞ Emphasis would be : ﻓﻴﺼﻞ ﻧﺎم so I guess 'الطلاب ذهبوا' would create emphasis |

Assalamu 'alaikum
Bro. asif told that the rule is only for third person verbs and not 1st or second person. according to what I understand, in حَفِظْتِ أنْتِ (although there are two fai'ls)both the fa'ils (تِ and أنْتِ) are the same (i mean both are for أنْتِ) so maybe(i maybe wrong) they count as one. so when the same fa'il is repeated twice it makes emphasis. the same for the first person. But for third person, (as in ذَهَبُوا الطُلَّابُ) both the fa'ils are different(و and الطُلَّابُ ) although both are for third person. و signifies "they" which is not specific and الطُلَّابُ is specific. so we cannot count them as one. so only one fa'il has to exist. and i don't know how to add emphasis to ذَهَبُوا الطُلَّابُ This is what i can understand and chances are I am wrong. If anyone finds the answer please post in this thread |

الجملة الاسمية is more emphatic and stronger than الجملة الفعلية. so if you want emphasis in the sentence then make it الجملة الاسمية as brother abdullah did. dr. abdurrahim told this in advance course that الجملة الاسمية is more emphatic than الجملة الفعلية. this thread maybe useful. read bro. icarus' third comment. where he says, "personal subject pronouns(like, anta, anti etc) can never be fails" if that is the case then it is solved
