In the Quran copies printed in South Asia, Allah is spelled with a “vertical fatha” on top of “Lam tashdeed.” In book 1 handout, Allah is spelled in this manner. See, for example: page 14.
But in middle-eastern Quran, Allah is spelled without this vertical fatha. In the English key of Book 1, Lesson 6, Page 16, Allah is spelled without this vertical fatha.
In the main Book 1, Lesson 6, page 38, words like Alhamdulillah is printed, but it is not clear in my book whether a vertical fatha is there or not.
Can someone knowledgeable please explain this two spelling rules?
