View Full Version : Does the letter meem and ta have a significance in arbaic like the letter seen

Was just wondering does the letter meem م and ta ت have any kind of significance in arbabic like the letter seen س does?

I know that the letter seen when put in front of a verb changes it into the "will do/will happen" tense. Does meem and ta have a similar kind of role?

I ask because

If مطر is the noun for rain
and تمطر changes into a verb
and ممطر changes the verb into an adjective
and ستمطر changes the verb into a prediction

it seems like there is a role here.

If they do have role like seen does, could someone explain them, and also if any other letters have such a role.

(P.S. I know ta tends to denote a female, and ya denotes a male, when put in from of a word usually, but that is about the extent of my knowledge)
